Fall Vacation

Our three days vacation to the North Carolina was a fun one. We did a lot of things with the kids and my in-laws. I’m kind a miss the blogging world but never bothered to blog even the internet connection is available. We went to Cataloochee and saw some elks up-closed…we’ve wish we could stay longer but we arrived very late but we are planning to go back one day and finish the tour and go horse back riding. My father in-law told us that they have good horse trails.

The kid’s enjoyed their fall vacation at the mountain. We took them to the coolest park and had picnic and the following night we camp-out and roast marshmallows. It was fun and I’m glad we’ve all enjoyed the short vacation. I hope we can do it more often.

Some info from nps.gov:

Cataloochee Valley is nestled among some of the most rugged mountains in the southeastern United States. Surrounded by 6000-foot peaks, this isolated valley was the largest and most prosperous settlement in what is now the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Once known for its farms and orchards, today Cataloochee is one of the most picturesque areas of the park.

The challenge is getting there. From most places it requires a fairly long trip on winding, gravel roads. However, the roads are well-maintained and fine for passenger cars.
